“Run from what’s comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now on I’ll be mad.“
Today is the day of my return flight back home. I have been in Bali for 2 months. But I am not boarding my flight. I somehow knew from the beginning that I wouldn’t be on that plane. My heart is yearning for more freedom. More adventures. More of that free spirit that I have been experiencing in the past 2 months. I know deep down that I need to listen to that voice whispering to me to keep going, to trust life, to trust the Universe. To keep flying in the direction of my dreams and see the beauty and gift of the present moment. Continue reading
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Even though I love sharing fun memories on the road with friends, I have to say there is a a sense of freedom that you get to live when you travel alone that is worth experience it, at least once in your life. Here’s a few reasons to take the leap and just do it!
Discover the magic outside your comfort zone
It can be scary to pack your bags and go solo on the road. Fear of the unknown is often what blocks us to go after our dreams & desires because we don’t know what will happen. We make up stories in our heads of how our decisions could turn out. It’s one way of seeing it. You could also instead appreciate the unknown as a new adventure, as a way to spice up your life. We can plan things but in the end we never know for sure if it will go the way we want to, so let go of the need to control and try to just be and live in the present moment. And before you know it, fear changes into excitement. Savor the bliss of not knowing where you’ll be the next day or what you’ll be doing. You will have to rely on yourself, and this will bring an enormous sense of confidence, courage and trust – that you can indeed do it on your own.
Yesterday was the last summer day! So I hope you enjoyed it and that you all had a wonderful summer filled with exciting adventures and magical moments! I almost did all the things that were on my summer list! And I think my highlights of the summer was the shooting stars night, movies at the park and spending quality and fun time with friends. Hard to let go of all the good summery time but new season is always special and Autumn is definitely my favorite season, the indian summer part of course!;)
Just sharing a few shots of my summer.
What were your summer highlights?
